Navigating Cybersecurity in the Age of AI
On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the CIO Lebanon Association proudly gathered over 70 IT executives—members of the Association—and their respective team members at the American University of Science and Technology (AUST) for a private event focused on cybersecurity in the AI era.
The evening opened with warm welcomes from AUST President Dr. Riad Sakr and CIO Association President Mr. Pierre Eid, with moderation by board member Dr. Charbel Diab.
In collaboration with Fortinet, we hosted two insightful keynote sessions:
• Mr. Ayed Al Qartah on global and Lebanon-specific cyber threats
• Mr. Riku Valpas on the transformative role of AI in cybersecurity
A dynamic panel discussion followed with Mr. Al Qartah, Mr. Valpas, and Dr. Elie Nasr, moderated by Eng. Ralph Sioufi. The discussion tackled AI-driven threats, ethical implications, and cybersecurity talent challenges.
The evening wrapped up with a networking dinner, sparking meaningful conversations and stronger connections among Lebanon’s technology leaders.
